Downtown Architectural Walking Tours
Explore the rich history and architectural legacy of Downtown St. Louis with a guided walking tour sponsored by ReVitalize St. Louis in cooporation with Landmarks Association of St. Louis. From the founding of the city through its modern redevelopment, our tours cover many well known landmarks, hidden gems, and insights into the events that shaped the city. Celebrate St. Louis history by learning about our unique buildings such as the Old Courthouse whose dome was the first cast iron dome completed in the United States, or Union Station which includes the largest railroad station train shed ever built.
When: Every Saturday from the beginning of April through the end of October, 10:00am to 12:00pm for the East and West Tours; 1:00 to 3:00pm for the North Tour. Rain or shine.
Choose from three tours – East, West or North. Meet at the Old Courthouse, Union Station or Hampton Inn at the Arch, see below for exact meeting spots.
Cost: $10 per adult and free for children 12 and under. Cash only please.

East Tour – Heart of Downtown
See where the city of St. Louis all began. The tour will include the Old Cathedral, Courthouse and Eads Bridge, as well as the Old Post Office District and Wainwright building. The tour also includes modern contributions such as the Phillip Johnson designed General American Building, and City Garden.
Directions and Parking: The tour begins outside of The Old Courthouse, at the Broadway entrance, opposite Kiener Plaza. Address: 11 South 4th Street, St. Louis, MO 63102, but please note, the tour starts at the Broadway entrance (not 4th street). Metered street parking is available, many parking garages are nearby, and there is a Metrolink stop nearby at either 8th and Pine, or the Stadium stop. West Tour – Beyond the Arch
Discover Downtown St. Louis beyond the Arch. This guided tour highlights the history and architectural significance of St. Louis’ Memorial Plaza and surrounding district. Historic buildings include Union Station, the Peabody Opera House, City Hall, Soldiers Memorial, and the renovated library, as well as the Campbell House Museum.
Directions and Parking: The tour begins outside the main entrance to the Union Station Hotel (DoubleTree by Hilton).
